The pegs secure the tenon on the curved braces to the mortise in the 10 x 10 post. Ben uses another peg as a giant “nail set”.

Crux timbers curve to create the classic Gothic Arch

The greatroom has three pairs of crux braces that mimic the crux frames in the old english tithe barns.

Some of the last purlins go in place

The purlins half-lap over the rafters and are fastened in place.
